Cumbria's Cooking

The idea behind Cumbria's Cooking was simple: People like food! We felt that offering people the opportunity to cook, eat and learn together provides a very accessible way to engage with communities, and build capacity and quality of life. It also promotes local producers, and encourages local people to take advantage of products often marketed primarily at the tourist market.

Farmer's Recipes
In October 2006, the Pennine Young Farmers laid on an indulgent evening of perfect puddings, delightful desserts and sensational sweets. All the dishes were hand prepared by the Young Farmers themselves, with help from chef John Crouch, and used local ingredients from local producers. Proceeds from the evening went to the Great North Air Ambulance.

This recipe card, featuring recipes from the event, celebrates the Young Farmers' Pudding Night.
